Steps

  1. Combine onion
  2. 1 / 2 cup wine
  3. Sugar
  4. 1 teaspoons thyme and 1 / 4 teaspoons black pepper in a large dutch oven
  5. Cover and cook over medium heat 20 minutes or until onion is soft
  6. Stirring occasionally
  7. Add vinegar
  8. Cook uncovered
  9. 15 minutes or until liquid almost evaporates and onions are caramelized
  10. Remove 3 / 4 cup onion mixture
  11. Set aside
  12. Sprinkle the veal with 1 / 4 teaspoons black pepper
  13. Add 1 cup wine
  14. 1 teaspoons thyme
  15. Veal
  16. Broth
  17. Red pepper
  18. Tomatoes
  19. And garlic to pan
  20. Bring to a boil
  21. Cover and reduce heat and simmer 1 hour and 15 minutes
  22. Turning veal occasionally
  23. Uncover and cook for 30 minutes
  24. Stir in pasta and beans and simmer 15 minutes or until pasta is tender
  25. Serve with the reserved onion mixture
  26. Basil
  27. And lemon zest
