Steps

  1. Start the water to heat first
  2. When boiling
  3. Add pasta and cook according to package direction - it will probably take around 10 minutes
  4. Do not overcook
  5. While water is heating
  6. Start on the dressing for the pasta
  7. Saute onions and garlic in 1 / 4 cup oil a few minutes until they start to soften
  8. Add tomatoes
  9. Artichokes
  10. And capers
  11. Cook for about 5 minutes on medium
  12. Then turn off the heat
  13. Once pasta is cooked
  14. Reserve 1 cup of the cooking water
  15. Drain the pasta
  16. Returning it to the large pot you cooked it inches add back the reserved hot cooking water
  17. Add the warm tomato and artichoke mixture to the cooked pasta
  18. Add the remaining 1 / 4 cup oil and parsley and stir to let it warm through and wilt the parsley
  19. Season with the salt and pepper
  20. Stir in the lemon juice and chopped basil
  21. Enjoy !
