Steps

  1. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat
  2. Stir in the orzo and garlic and saute until the garlic is fragrant
  3. About 30 seconds
  4. Add the potatoes
  5. Carrots and onion to the pan and continue to cook and stir until the onion and carrot become tender
  6. Season the mixture with the basil
  7. Oregano
  8. Salt and pepper
  9. Add the water to the pan and bring to a boil
  10. Partially cover the pan
  11. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook about 12 minutes
  12. Or until the orzo is tender and the water is nearly completely absorbed
  13. Stir in the parmesan cheese and serve immediately
