this is a quick, easy, one-pot meal in which i used yves spicy italian veggie sausages. i'm sure you could sub ordinary italian sausage if you wanted.

Steps

  1. Slice sausages into 1 / 4 inch thick slices
  2. Heat oil in a large pot
  3. Add garlic
  4. Onion
  5. Carrot and green pepper
  6. Saute for about 2 minutes
  7. Add sausage slices and cook for 5 minutes
  8. Sprinkle with sage and salt and pepper
  9. Stir in tomatoes and water and bring to a boil
  10. Stir in orzo and reduce heat to medium
  11. Simmer uncovered
  12. Stirring often till most of the liquid is absorbed - about 10 minutes
  13. Stir in broccoli and remove from heat
  14. Cover and let stand till liquid is absorbed - 3 to 5 minutes
  15. Sprinkle each serving with parmesan cheese
  16. If you like
