oriental chicken salad with honey sesame dressing


this is my version of applebee's oriental chicken salad....wonderful flavors of sweet sesame and honey. this one will be a family favorite for sure!

  1. Cut chicken breasts into thin cubes or strips
  2. Set aside
  3. In a pie plate or shallow dish
  4. Beat eggs with 4 tablespoons milk
  5. In another pie plate or shallow dish
  6. Add crushed corn flake crumbs
  7. Flour
  8. Salt
  9. Pepper and garlic powder
  10. Mix until well blended
  11. Set aside
  12. In a medium mixing bowl
  13. Whisk together honey
  14. Vinegar
  15. Mayonnaise
  16. Mustard and sesame oil
  17. Chill for 20-30 minutes
  18. In a large size skillet
  19. Add 1 / 4 cup oil on medium heat
  20. When oil is hot
  21. Dip chicken into egg mixture and then in crumb mixture
  22. Place chicken in hot oil and fry to a golden brown on all sides
  23. About 2-3 minutes per side
  24. Drain chicken pieces on a plate lined with paper towels
  25. To drain
  26. Keep warm
  27. In a large size mixing or salad bowl
  28. Add romaine lettuce
  29. Shredded carrot
  30. Scallions
  31. Cabbage
  32. Almonds and chow mein noodles
  33. Toss salad to incorporate salad mixture
  34. Pour in salad dressing over top and continue to toss until well coated with dressing
  35. Serve salad in individual salad plates and top with an even amount of crispy chicken per plate
  36. Makes 4 servings
