oriental chicken lettuce wraps


this has a lot of ingredients, but is totally easy to make. an excellent home cooked meal that tastes like chinese take-out! you can also make these as appetizers (as they are served at the restaurants such as pf changs).

  1. In a small bowl
  2. Soak mushrooms in warm water until softened
  3. About 15 minutes
  4. Drain
  5. Chop and set aside
  6. In another bowl
  7. Combine ground chicken / turkey
  8. Cornstarch and wine
  9. Mix well and let stand for 10 minutes
  10. Make the sauce by combining hoisin sauce
  11. Peanut butter
  12. Peanuts
  13. Soy sauce
  14. Chili powder
  15. Ginger and sesame oil
  16. Set aside
  17. Pull off the outerleaves of the head of lettuce
  18. Wash and set aside
  19. Place a large skillet over high heat until hot
  20. Add vegetable oil
  21. Swirling to coat pan
  22. Add garlic and green onion and cook for about 15 seconds
  23. Then add chicken mixture until crumbly and no longer pink which is about 2 minutes
  24. Add red pepper
  25. Water chestnuts and mushrooms and cook another 1-2 minutes until the pepper is slightly soft
  26. Mix the meat mixture with the sauce and put in bowl to transfer to table
  27. Put the lettuce leafs on the table
  28. Let everyone take a leaf
  29. Put some meat mixture in it
  30. Wrap
  31. It up and its time to eat !
