oriental pork wrappers


i watched this recipe being made on the food network on semi homemade cooking with sandra lee and knew i had to hunt down the recipe. mmmm, one of my favorite dishes at a chinese buffet.

  1. In a medium bowl
  2. Combine sausage
  3. Green onions
  4. Soy sauce
  5. Hoisin sauce and garlic
  6. Place 8 wonton wrappers on a clean surface and brush edges with water
  7. Place 1 tablespoon of mixture in the center of each wrapper
  8. Gather edges of wrapper together over filling
  9. Press edges of wrappper together enclosing the filling completely
  10. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling
  11. Place a collabsible metal steamer rack in a large wide pot
  12. Fill pot with 1 / 2 inch of water
  13. Spray steamer with non-stick cooking spray
  14. Bring water to a simmer
  15. Working in batches
  16. Arrange dumplings on rack 1" apart
  17. Cover pot with lid and steam dumplings until cooked thoroughly
  18. About 8 minutes
  19. Watch the water level and add more as needed
  20. Transfer dumplings to a platter and serve with dipping sauces
