Steps

  1. In a small saucepan
  2. Combine the sugar
  3. 1 / 2 cup water
  4. Lemongrass and ginger
  5. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat
  6. Stirring to the dissolve sugar
  7. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 2 minutes
  8. Remove from the heat and allow the lemongrass and ginger to steep in the sugar syrup for at least half an hour
  9. For more pronounced flavor
  10. Place in the refrigerator and allow to steep several hours or overnight
  11. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil
  12. Add the teabags
  13. Turn off the heat
  14. And allow the tea to steep for 5 minutes
  15. Squeeze out the teabags and discard
  16. Pour the brewed tea into a heat-proof pitcher
  17. Strain the lemongrass ginger syrup through a small sieve
  18. Pressing on the solids to extract as much flavor as possible
  19. Discard the solids
  20. And add the syrup to the pitcher of tea
  21. Add three cups of cold water to the tea
  22. And stir well
  23. Chill the tea
  24. And serve over ice
  25. Enjoy !
