Steps

  1. Zest six lemons and put in bottle or jar sufficient to hold approximately 1 quart
  2. Add vodka and shake well
  3. Set aside for 10 days
  4. Shaking periodically
  5. On the 10th day
  6. Make a simple syrup by bringing 3 cups of water and 1 1 / 2 cups sugar to a boil
  7. Strain zest from vodka and pour syrup over zest
  8. After a few minutes
  9. Strain the zest from the simple syrup
  10. And then discard the zest
  11. Mix the syrup with the vodka
  12. And place in bottles
  13. Keep in freezer
  14. Must be served icy cold !
  15. Serving in chilled glasses is an extra nice touch
