Steps

  1. Heat oven to 350f grease 12 cup bundt cake pan with shorting and lightly flour
  2. Beat cake mix
  3. Oil
  4. Water
  5. And eggs in large bowl with electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds
  6. Then beat on medium speed for 2 minutes
  7. Scraping bowl occasionally
  8. Stir the poppy seeds into batter and pour into pan
  9. Bake 38 to 43 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean
  10. Cool in pan for 10 minutes
  11. And then turn upside down on wire rack
  12. Remove from pan and cool 2 hours
  13. Meanwhile
  14. Make lemon glaze
  15. Mix sugar
  16. 1 tablespoon lemon juice and lemon peel
  17. Mix and add the rest of lemon juice 1 teaspoon at a time until smooth and the consistency of thick syrup
  18. Spread lemon glaze over the top of the cooled cake
  19. Allowing some to drizzle down the sides
  20. Store loosely covered at room temperature
