this is a scandinavian twist on basil pesto. you may substitute this for basil pesto and it's particularly good on grilled fish or chicken.
this recipe i got from my daughter-in-law (one smart cook) the first time i visited their new home and have fixed it so many times since. it is so easy and quick that i can whip it up in a blink of an eye and the almond flavoring is super.
this is attributed to arbroath, angus, scotland because of the smoked haddock, whether the recipe originated there or not. this makes an excellent breakfast or a light supper. posted for zaar world tour 05.
from delia smiths vegetarian collection. i add garlic to this so it is mentioned as an optional ingredient. if you prefer you can pan roast the asparagus instead of steaming them. meant as a starter but can easily be served as a side dish.
this is just a spin off of the very good fudge crinkles recipe by karen=^..^= i've just been asked for the recipe so many times that i though i should post it. it makes 40-48 cookies and really couldn't be any easier.
