lemon chicken bow tie pasta


i found this recipe in the bjs wholesale club magazine, and tweaked it slightly. they tout that it's $1.91 per serving if you buy the ingredients there. there are lots of veggies you could add that would be delicious - snap peas, asparagus, mushrooms, artichokes, etc. this can also be frozen easily for an oamc. anyway, it's quite delicious - enjoy!!

  1. Cook pasta
  2. Drain and set aside
  3. Cut chicken into 3 / 4" pieces
  4. Set aside
  5. Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat
  6. Add green onions and garlic
  7. Saute 3 minutes
  8. Add chicken
  9. Salt and pepper
  10. Saute for 9-12 minutes
  11. Stirring occasionally
  12. Add pasta
  13. Set aside
  14. Melt butter in saucepan
  15. Add flour and cayenne pepper
  16. Add broth and milk all at once
  17. Stir over medium heat until thick and bubbly
  18. Add mustard and lemon juice to white sauce while still hot
  19. Immediately toss with pasta and chicken to mix
  20. "if its not quite thick enough
  21. Turn the heat up for 3-4 minutes
  22. Then let it stand for a few"
