Feijoada, Samba and Caipirinha:The Best of Brazil

If you know Brazilian food, you’ve probably heard of feijoada, the country’s national dish. One of the most typical foods in Brazil; it is a black bean stew cooked along with a selection of pork cuts such as ribs, tenderloin, and smoked sausage, as well as jerked beef. A complete feijoada usually brings rice, slices of orange, farofa (a toasted manioc flour mixture), chopped kale sautéed with onion and the crushed garlic in the olive oil , fried manioc (which looks like french fries but is far tastier!) and deep-fried pork skin, known as torresmo. The pork cuts are sometimes cooked overnight and are what give an incredible flavor to the meal. Garlic, onions, and hot spices are also added to the mix. Along with this delicious dish, we will serve you a traditional Brazilian drink "caipirinha" made with sugarcane rum "cachaça" mixed with lime, sugar, and ice. You can expect to have a real Brazilian experience with us! Good food, incredible drinks, great music, and friendly people! You will probably feel as you were in Brazil!

Exceptional experience! Raul and Raquel were gracious, warm and personable. The food, wine and desserts were delicious, abundant and much more than we expected. We were fully immersed in the traditional Portuguese culture. We can’t wait to return for Brazilian night!! Highly recommended by all 6 guests.

t is with pleasure that a write a review for this wonderful couple who invited me and some fiends and family to their Home in New Bedford for a traditional Portuguese dinner. We were warmly greeted at the door by Raul and Raquel and escorted to their beautifully decorated dining room. The table was set in fall motif. We began dinner with some Portuguese wine (which we all fell in love with and are having a hard time finding), cheese and appetizers followed by a delicious meal and dessert. We have had such a wonderful experience that we are planing a Brazilian dinner with the couple , possibly next month. I highly recommend this host!!!!
